Sindhi Biryani

This recipe serves 6 to 7 adults

Marinate 1 to 1 and half kg of chicken in the following mix for a couple of hours:
1 cup plain curd
Fresh coriander leaves chopped
Pinch of salt or as per your taste
4 medium sized tomatoes cut in to large wedges
One onion finely sliced
1 and half tblsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp lime juice
1 pack of Shan biryani masala ( bombay biryani, sindhi biryani, malabar any)


Fry 1 large onion finely sliced in ghee and add 1 and half tblsp of ginger garlic paste to it
Fry this till golden brown and keep aside


Cook 4 cups of basmati rice which is already soaked in watr for 15 minutes. Cook it till half done.
Do not forget to add enough salt for the rice.


Prepare your rice cooker by adding on a tsp of ghee and add in the onion fry mix
Now add the marinated chicken to it
Add some water until just above the level of chicken for the chicken to cook
Now add a portion of the half cooked rice
Sprinkle some fresh coriander leaves and a pinch of saffron yellow colouring powder ( you can sprinkle fried onions too)
Now add the remaining rice and sprinkle a tsp of rose water, some chopped fresh corriandr and some colouring powder
Close it with a foil paper and then the rice  ooker lid and cook till the switch goes to warm.
Remove the plug to prevent further heating while in “warm mode” and getting burnt bottom haha
Sprinkle some sultanas and cashew nuts fried in ghee at last or when serving.
